For today we split into two groups. Alan, Cathy and Thomas circumvented the ‘Deepdale Round’ via ‘St Sunday Crag’ and ‘Fairfield’. The walk was 9.0 miles with some steep ascents of 1068 metres. In parts there was some serious scrambling, at this stage with outstretched limbs I pondered whether we were just a walking club!
It was a fantastic walk and a lovely sunny day, bringing us all such a great day. At times we had the whole mountainside to ourselves and much enjoyed the peace and tranquillity. Thomas was eager to record our great experiences with his photography and requested a passer–by to assist him addressing her as “me old duck”.
