Walk 22/2008 – Annecy, France.

Friday 19th September

After landing at Geneva Airport late afternoon and following a delayed flight we had to embrace a few more hurdles including traffic hold–ups on route form Geneva to Annecy. We were late to check into our hostel but received a most welcome supper of pasta, french bread and curried chicken pieces followed by a typical french cheese board. After supper we all walked into the very impressive Annecy for a most needed relaxing beer and introduction to this beautiful location. It is a very picturesque old town reminiscent of a Shakespeare theatre back drop, and situated in an area of great natural beauty – majestic mountains, evergreen forests, clear water lake and the river. Most of us started on what was to be a weekend of a medley of different bottle beers and different flavours and really starting to unwind into the holiday mood!
