Walk 10/2009 – Buttermere, Lake District

The A team

The A team of Geoff and Owen route which took in Hindscarth and Robinson. Walk stats: Distance 10.2 miles Ascent 1444 metres.

The B team

The B team of Colin, Andy, Judith, Nigel, Barbara, Angela and the two Simons took a route over Mellbreak to Loweswater and returned along a lower route along Crummock Water. Walk stats: Distance 9.4 miles Ascent 659 metres.

The C team

The C team of Alan, Cathy, Diane and Michelle did a similar route but went around Mellbreak rather than over it. We had thought that the B team would beat us to the pub in Loweswater (where they brew their own beer) but the descent from Mellbreak proved to be difficult and the C team were well settled in the pub garden by the time the B team arrived. Walk stats: Distance 9.1 miles Ascent 411 metres.
