Walk 16/2009 – Exford, Exmoor

Sunday 14th June 2009

Most people fancied some more coasatl walking. So we headed to the piece of coast line just to the west of Minehead where we picked a sixish mile walk from the map.

The weather was beautiful now and we took our time. On one stop, Alan was called upon by some of the women to fulfill his duties as Club Strap Adjuster. So supporting the drooping load in one hand, he expertly manipulated the straps until things were well supported, pointing in the right direction and hanging in the right place. The chest strap can make this quite difficult and often requires special attention!

Apart from the sweet savoury vegetable crumble, the food had been quite reasonble although the other point of note was that they used all the crusts when they made the sandwiches. When packing them, they always put the crust on the inside so it didn’t show until you opened them.

Most of us made our way home after the walk, but some went into Dunster where there was more consuming of cream teas.

This was a very enjoyable weekend again assisted by extremely good weather.
