REPORTS |
For the first time that I can remember we decided not to do the planned route because of the weather. The weather at the moment is certainly different. Normally, if we have a bit of snow it’s gone in the morning, but at the moment it is being persistent. So apart from the hazards of reaching the walk start, walking 9 miles in four to six inches of frozen snow sounded somewhat hard work.
So instead we had a slightly later start and went for a leisurely stroll around Ferry Meadows.
Even in the relatively flat terrain of Peterborough, there were one or two bits that were difficult to walk. Virtually the whole route was covered in snow or ice. Still it meant there was a different photo opportunity to usual.
The highlight was the superb snowman that we came across at Ferry Bridge.
The Woodman provided a convenient resting palce at the end.
