Walk 11/2009 – Jurassic Way

Sunday 19th April 2009

We started our linear walk at Braunston, near Daventry and enjoyed watching some skilful manoeuvring of brightly coloured narrow boats in the marinas. Sadly, dead and sick animals seemed to feature on this walk with lots of poorly sheep with coughs and limps. Several badgers were seen on the roadside on our way here. On a happier note we did enjoy watching a lady photographing her dog in the middle of a field and wondered whether she was getting in some training for Britain’s Got Talent.

We enjoyed our walk today on the Jurassic Way across rolling hills in beautiful countryside and managed to find a suitable place for lunch in the dead centre of Hellidon (see photo).

When we got back to Braunston we had trouble remembering where the car was parked as we had relied on sat nav to get us there. Alan’s excellent navigation skills came into use and we were reunited with our transport. Lessons to learn when doing linear walks – remember where your car is parked and leave your shoes in the car! We all agreed this was a good walk today.
