Walk 19/2009 – Islip Circuit

Sunday 26th July 2009

There were fourteen walkers today. The primary route was 14 miles and the secondary 9 miles. Debs was the only one who thought she was not up to the longer distance even after Alan’s challenge to new walker Sue as to how she knew she could walk 14 miles.( Oh, well, it’s July, we’re in low lying Northamtonshire, we’ll soon find out.)

Even though Debs is quite capable of navigating herself around the route, we can’t have people walking on their own, particularly if they are ladies (applied in the “broad” sense!).

In a sudden bout of chivalry, Alan volunteered to accompany her. (Alone in the woods with the delectable Debs. Ummmm....! Would he be safe?)

So for the party of two, we had a relaxed walk. We stopped at the Snooty Fox in Lowick for a drink and then had plenty of time at the end waiting for the others to turn up.

You’ll only find out what the others got up to, if someone sends me a report.
